Skin blemish & lesion removal

Skin Tags

Skin tags are soft, skin coloured growths that occur mostly where folds of skin are on the face or body ie neck, arms, legs, eyelids.  Although harmless they can cause irritation when catching on clothing or jewellery, aesthetically a client will also want removal for blemish free skin.  Skin tags can be removed safely and effectively using Cryotherapy, restoring your skin to an unblemished and comfortable condition.

Sun/Age Spots & Pigmentation

More commonly known as sun spots or age spots, clusters of dark or light brown patches are most commonly found on hands, chest, face and neck. These are evidence of UV damage caused by increased sun damage.  These can show years after the sun damage has been done, difficult to cover up, these can be targeted by Cryotherapy or Laser treatment.

Milia

Formed small cysts of keratin (the skins protein) Milia rarely disappear on their own over time.  They are  hard, unsqeezable spots most commonly found around the eye area or face.  These cannot be removed manually, which may cause damage to the skin instead Cryotherapy safely and comfortably removes these blemishes.

Cherry Angiomas

Caused by blood vessel overgrowth, most commonly found on the torso also do not go away on their own and can lead to multiple lesions.  Stress, ageing, sun damage and genetics can all be causes and removal is achieved through Cryotherapy.

Warts and Verrucae

Caused by a virus both infect only the outer layer of the skin. Warts generally protrude away from the skin while verrucae are flattened into the skin as a result of being on the foot.  Viral infections tend to need more than one treatment, 4 weeks after the initial appointment.

Fungal Nail

Fungal infections on the nails occur through a variety of reasons most commonly through sports where feet are constantly warm or damp, or by water getting under nail polishes and extensions.  Over the counter remedies can take over 12 months to cure the infection but often are ineffective and GP medications often come with side effects. If the nail is not treated effectively it may need to be removed completely.  Laser treatment is the most convenient and effective way to eradicate fungal infections plus all nails on the hand or foot are treated to avoid spreading.

Cryotherapy

What is Cryotherapy and how does it work?
No longer available on the NHS, Cryotherapy is the use of Nitrtus Oxide to destroy the tissue of skin lesions by freezing the inter-cellular fluid, it is incredibly accurate meaning there will be no damage to the surrounding healthy tissue. A full consultation will be required determining your suitability.
Is the treatment painful?
A sensation similar to a stinging nettle on the skin will be felt as the Nitrous oxide reaches the bottom of the area being treated, there may be a little residual stinging for a few minutes after treatment, this is normal.
How many sessions will I need?
For most lesions one session is enough, sometimes a follow up 6 weeks later is needed. As warts and verrucae are viral infections they may require an additional treatment after 4 weeks.
Cost of treatment
Prices start from £65, a consultation is necessary prior to treatment, the cost of which is fully redeemable against the treatment.

Laser Blemish Removal

Most patients describe the feeling as a mild or tolerable discomfort and no anaesthesia is required.

Laser Pigment Removal
We always recommend a consultation prior to determine your suitability. For sun/age pigmentation no sun tan (real or fake)should be present nor exposure to sun at least 4 weeks before treatment. The pigment that responds best are those caused by sun damage/overexposure.  Usually pigmented spots fade after 3-4 sessions, Fungal nail 3-6 sessions

Laser Fungal Nail Removal
Fungal infections on the nails occur through a variety of reasons most commonly through sports where feet are constantly warm or damp, or by water getting under nail polishes and extensions.  Over the counter remedies can take over 12 months to cure the infection but often are ineffective and GP medications often come with side effects. If the nail is not treated effectively it may need to be removed completely.  Laser treatment is the most convenient and effective way to eradicate fungal infections plus all nails on the hand or foot are treated to avoid spreading.
Light is absorbed by the water underneath and around the nail, creating heat to eliminate the fungal infection. The entire nail bed and matrix is treated by placing the laser applicator onto the nail emitting short pulses of light. Typically 3-6 treatments may be required, though these vary. Results become apparent as the nail grows, due to the slow rate of toenail growth it may take several months for results to be seen.  Most people are suitable, we recommend the nail is filed down to allow the laser penetration, please book a consultation to ascertain your suitability.
